1. Overview
Tempo ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal job tracking tool. This policy covers both the Tempo web application and the Tempo – Job Tracker Assistant Chrome extension. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service and never sell your data.
2. Data collected by the web app
- Account information: email address and hashed password.
- Professional profile: name, target roles, location, skills and uploaded CV files.
- Job opportunities: titles, companies, application status and notes you create.
- Generated content: CV drafts and cover letters produced at your request.
- Notification preferences and delivery logs (WhatsApp opt-in only).
This data is stored on your own Tempo instance (self-hosted) or on Render infrastructure (cloud). It is used exclusively to operate the service for you and is never shared with third parties.
3. Data collected by the Chrome Extension

The extension runs entirely inside your browser. It does not collect, store or transmit personal data to any third party. Specifically:
- LinkedIn session cookies — read locally to fetch authenticated job pages. They are never extracted, stored or sent anywhere outside your browser and your own Tempo backend.
- Job listing data — title, company name, location and application URL scraped from LinkedIn job pages. Sent only to your own Tempo backend via the extension token you configured.
- Extension configuration — your Tempo backend URL and extension token are stored in
chrome.storage.localon your device only.
The extension does not read browsing history, does not inject scripts into web pages, and does not execute remote code.
4. Permissions used by the extension

5. Data sharing
We do not sell, trade or transfer your data to any third party. Job listing data fetched by the extension is sent only to the Tempo backend URL you configure — which is your own instance. No analytics, advertising or tracking services are used.
6. Data retention and deletion
You can delete all your data from the Settings page. This permanently removes your account, CVs, opportunities, generated outputs and preferences from the database. Uninstalling the Chrome extension removes all locally stored configuration immediately.
